Adrian Tchaikovsky and Ellen Datlow enjoyed an hour in conversation with Matthew Sangster on WorldBuilding in Fantasy last Saturday 9 December 2023 from 17:00 at the British Library’s Theatre.

Ellen was standing in for Aliette de Bodard who was, sadly, unable to attend. However, a lively conversation ensued which was recorded and broadcast to members of the British Library. 

Matthew Sangster, Professor of Romantic Studies, Fantasy and Cultural History at the University of Glasgow, led the session. He has co-curated the fascinating Fantasy: Realms of the Imagination exhibition currently being hosted by the British Library. 

Ellen is an American science fiction, fantasy, and horror editor and anthologist and was very entertaining and informative about her work and her experience of world building. 

Finally, there were many very interesting and engaging questions from the audience and an opportunity to meet the authors in person and have books personally signed.
